ACC was the civil works and structural steel contractor on the Taweelah A2 50 MIGD desalination plant, completed August 2001. Complementing the Taweelah A2 power plant, the desalination plant was awarded as a BOO contract and executed on a fast track basis. Water production is achieved from four Multi-Stage Flash (MSF) distillers, each that is 90 metres long, 30 metres wide and weighs 3,500 tons, fired by waste heat from the gas and steam turbines. Each distiller has a capacity of 12.5 MIGD.
